| Dress Code, Cell Phones: | Competitors must be neat in appearance and wear appropriate attire. No gym shorts, cutoffs, blue jeans, tee shirts, etc. Shorts must be Bermuda length. Use of cell phones is prohibited on course during competition. Important Note: TPC Louisiana is a spikeless facility and all competitors will be required to wear spikeless shoes. |
| Eligibility: | Entries are open to any Louisiana resident (as of at least 90 days prior to the Championship) who is an amateur golfer (as defined by the USGA) holding membership in a LGA Member Club in good standing (2009 club and individual dues must be paid; club must be a part of the LGA Handicap Network or have USGA Handicap System Compliance Verification form on file in LGA office). Non-amateurs are not eligible. Entries are subject to rejection at any time (including during the Championship) by the LGA. Reasons for rejection may include unbecoming conduct. |
| Entry Deadline/Applications: | All teams must file an entry by Monday, July 6, 2009, online, via mail or delivery to LGA office by 5 PM. Online entry applications can be completed at www.LGAgolf.org. NOTE: Entry deadline is July 6, 2009, 5 PM, or until a full field is reached before July 6. Teams are cautioned that the event could fill up before July 6. Time limit for entries means time of receipt at LGA office, not time entry is sent to LGA. Entries should be submitted early to allow ample time for delay or error in transmission. The risk of delay or error in transmission lies solely with the entrant and the LGA will have no liability with respect to any such delay or error and the consequences therefrom, including rejection of the entry. Late or incomplete applications are not acceptable. Entries by FAX, telephone, or telegraph are not acceptable. Entry fee must accompany application for application to be considered complete. |
| Entry Fee, Withdrawal/Refunds: | Entry fee of $300 per two man team, which includes cart fee for practice round and tournament play. Entry fee will be refunded regardless of reason if LGA office is notified, in writing, before the close of entries. After the close of entries, fee will be refunded only in the event of injury or illness provided notification (accompanied by a doctor's statement) reaches LGA office by July 17, 2009. A $45 service charge will be deducted from all refunds. Pairings and starting times for first round of play will be posted at the Host Club, TPC Louisiana, New Orleans, Louisiana, Friday, July 17, 2009. |
| Field/Format: | Limited to the first 80 team entries. All 80 teams will play 18 holes of Four-Ball stroke play (scratch/no handicaps) each day (July 18-19). |
| Practice Privileges: | Practice privileges are extended to participants in the Championship at TPC Louisiana on July 17, 2009. Cart fee paid by LGA. |
| Prizes/Playoff: | Prizes will be awarded to the top five placing teams in the Championship. In case of a tie for the Championship, a sudden death playoff will take place immediately upon conclusion of play on Sunday. All other ties, which determine prizes or recognition, will be decided by matching scorecards, per USGA method in Appendix I. Championship team members will also receive invitations to participate in the 2009 Louisiana Cup Matches. |
| Rules of Golf: | Play will be governed by the 2008-09 USGA Rules of Golf and the current LGA Rules of Play Card. All questions will be settled by the LGA Rules Committee, whose decision will be final. |
